, Top APC Politician Has Dumped APC to back Peter Obi

Dr. SKC Ogbonnia, a former candidate for president of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2019 presidential election, has declared his decision to leave the APC and its 2023 presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, in favor of the Labour Party’s (LP) Mr. Peter Obi.

Ogbonnia stated that the reason for his support of Obi was because the LP presidential candidate is a “democratic revolution, whose time has come,” and he was “joining the Nigerian public in endorsing Obi as the future president of Nigeria with every feeling of patriotism.”

I must refuse to endorse Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress’s presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, even if I am still a member of the party.

It was not an easy choice to support the rival party’s nominee. But eventually, you have to declare “enough is enough,” according to Ogbonnia.

Ogbonnia stated in a statement he provided to newsmen yesterday that his first scorn for Tinubu sprang from the fact that neither other party members nor common Nigerians can assert to know who Ahmed Tinubu is in reality.

“Everything about the man is shady, including his name, state of origin, the schools he attended, the certificates he received, his record in America, and his true source of income, let alone any sincere intention to run for president, aside from the conceited assertion that it is his turn to rule Nigeria.

“In addition to his dubious past, a slew of incidents also demonstrate that Tinubu lacks the spirit of equality, justice, fairness, and patriotism that he professes to uphold.

In actuality, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has even less understanding of the status of Nigeria and her issues than President Muhammadu Buhari.

The APC National Leader’s lack of physical condition to consider running for president of Nigeria is well known, but it has also become clear that he lacks the cerebral capacity, according to Ogbonnia.

I see intelligence, character, capacity, and competence; I see honesty and modesty. I see dynamism and patriotism. I see a track record that is both admirable and verifiable, attainable goals, hope for the Nigeria of our founding ideals, and a democratic revolution whose time has come.

My politics are in line with this action. I never allow my judgment to be clouded by the superficial considerations of race, religion, or political party.

I campaigned for MKO Abiola, the Social Democratic Party’s flagbearer, as a member of the National Republican Convention (NRC) (SDP). In my opinion, Abiola was a superior candidate to Bashir Tofa, the nominee for my party.

“In its most populous state, Enugu, I was a card-carrying member of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP). But I changed my mind after the rigged general elections of 2007, when the governing PDP decided who would win or lose. I vowed to support any movement that could unseat PDP.

I would join the APC as a founding member and support Buhari for president. I will always be proud of the fact that we overthrew the PDP, a notoriously corrupt ruling party that had intended to rule for an uninterrupted 60 years. We gave examples of how bad behavior has repercussions.

“Unfortunately, the APC does not seem to have any ideological, moral, or ethical differences with the heavily discredited PDP today with Asiwaju Tinubu as its National Leader.

Today, my party has shamelessly turned into a haven for corrupt tycoons. To make matters worse, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and , the respective presidential candidates for the APC and PDP, are two of the most heinous representatives of Nigeria’s corrupt oligarchy.

In conclusion, neither Atiku nor Tinubu can advocate against corruption in good conscience.

It’s important to remember that no Nigerian leader, military or civilian, has ever taken over the country’s governance with the level of mercenary influence and notoriety that Atiku and Tinubu are often compared to.

I have a moral code. I put my country before my party. I become an OBI-dient for the sake of Nigeria! I implore other sincere progressives to follow suit, Ogbonnia said.
