Tinubu’s Appointments Fair to All Zones, APC Reacts Amid Allegations of Nepotism
APC Defends Appointments of President Tinubu’s Government Amidst Allegations of Nepotism.
The All Progressives Congress is defending President Bola Tinubu against accusations of nepotism and insinuations that his key appointments have been rather fair towards all regions in Nigeria. APC Spokesman Felix Morka made this assertion while speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today Monday, in reaction to claims by some northern critics that President Tinubu has favored his region with appointments.

Morka hammered on the fairness in Tinubu’s appointments: “President Tinubu is trying to be fair. We have some fairness in the key offices.” He argued that it is still early for people to begin to critique what the president has done, considering that the administration has been in office just for one year and many positions are yet to be filled.
“There are so many offices that are yet to be filled. There is more to come. We have given them the President, we have given them the Vice President. We have given them the Defence, we have given them the Finance. The Defence is mostly staffed by people on the northern side while the Minister of Finance and the CBN governor are on the southern side,” Morka explained.
He expected the critics to be patient pending all the important positions since some were still to be filled. He insisted the President had the whole country as his constituency, determined to give representation to every part of Nigeria. This is following the Federal Character principle enshrined in the constitution.

“The President is not the President of South-West or north or south, he is the President of Nigeria, and every part of this country deserves to be effectively represented consistent with the Federal Character flavour of our constitution,” added Morka.
This defense is in view of growing concerns that already characterize ethnic and regional balance about government appointments, leaving a sensitive chord in Nigeria’s political landscape.
