Terrorists have kidnapped over sixty people along the Sokoto-Gusau route.
A Sokoto Mass Transit employee confirmed to Channels Television that the Terrorist targeted one of their buses.
The officer, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said the robbers stopped the route with sophisticated firearms on Sunday morning and kidnapped around sixty people.
The bus driver and one other passenger escaped the attack, but the robbers abducted the remainder of the passengers and drove them into the bush.
The Terrorist also blocked Wurno-Goronyo road at 5:00 p.m. the same day, killing two persons and kidnapping others, according to locals.
The Terrorist killed two people, including a lady, according to him.
He was unable to corroborate the kidnapping of additional passengers along the road, stating that the situation was still being investigated by authorities.
The state’s police department has yet to state the incident.
Kidnappings for ransom have been widespread in Sokoto and other Nigerian states.
Armed Terrorists carry out the attacks to terrorize locals and generate money.
Apart from kidnappings, the Terrorist assassinates community inhabitants at will. An alpha jet used by the military to attack criminals in neighbouring Zamfara State was recently shot down by a group of outlaws.
