Tension in Edo: Robbers attack police station in Edo, kill 10 in raid on 2 Nigerian Bank

There was pandemonium in Igarra, the headquarters of Akoko-Edo local area of Edo state on Thursday, August 9, as robbers raided two banks and killed at least 10 people.

The invasion on the police station, according to the report, was to demobilize the law enforcement agency and its men.

Ejesgist learnt that at the station, a police officer and two detainees reportedly shot dead while three other persons outside the station were killed by the robbers. The official vehicle of a newly posted area commander was also set ablaze by the robbers.

It was after the attack on the police station that the robbers reportedly made their way to the banks
