Tension as terrorists ambush soliders, injure 3 in Abuja

Terrorists attacked soldiers on a routine patrol along the Kubwa-Bwari road on Monday, injuring three Guards Brigade soldiers.

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has reportedly been besieged by terrorists who intend to attack the Bwari Law School and other government buildings.

Although authorities claimed to be on the trail of the attackers, military sources who requested anonymity said the attack was confirmation of the terrorists’ siege of the city.

One of the sources claims that suspected terrorists ambushed members of the 7th Guards Battalion while they were on routine patrol along the Kubwa-Bwari road.

The source said, “The ambushed attack showing that the terrorists are actually within the location and possibly to carry out their plans of attacking the law school in Bwari as earlier reported.”

The soldiers were attacked but successfully repelled, according to Captain Godfrey Abakpa, Assistant Director Army Public Relations, Guards Brigade.

He added that the injured soldiers had been transported to hospitals where they were being treated.

“They were attacked, but the attacker was driven off. Few of our combat casualties were transported to the hospital for medical attention.

Currently, our troops are still searching the general area to clear it of the criminals who have been posing a threat. It is advised that locals carry on with their lawful activities and continue to work with us by providing us with timely information so that we can defeat the criminals, he said.
