Two sisters, Uduak Obong, 30, and Blessing, 18, along with Uduak Obong’s 7-year-old daughter, have been reported dead after allegedly eating dinner in Akwa Ibom State.
The deceased, who lived near the Nest of Champions International Stadium in Obio Etoi, was said to have eaten rice and stew the night before.
SP Odiko Macdon, the Police Public Relations Officer, said the bodies had been evacuated from their homes in a press statement made available to journalists in Uyo on Monday.
He went on to say that the Commissioner, CP Andrew Amiengheme, has ordered a prompt investigation into the deceased’s cause of death.
The Commissioner expressed his condolences to the family and stated that the command will use all available resources to determine the cause(s) of their untimely death.
“The command has removed the lifeless bodies and begun investigation on the cause of death of two sisters identified as Uduak Obong, 30, Blessing, 18, and Uduak Obong’s 7-year-old daughter at their residence at Obio Etoi, near the Nest of Champions International Stadium,” the statement read in part.
“Based on preliminary findings, they ate rice and stew before going to bed the night before the tragic incident.
“The Commissioner of Police of the Akwa Ibom State Police Command, CP AMIENGHEME ANDY, has expressed his condolences to the deceased family and has ordered a discreet investigation, vowing to use all available resources to determine the cause of death.”
