Sunday Asefon, the National President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), confirmed the incident to our correspondent during a news conference, saying he learned that two students were killed and another was shot during the protest.

He bemoaned the fact that the state administration did not examine the country’s current economic reality before raising tuition.

The students stated they had a difficult time dealing with the prior school fees, which varied from N25,000 to N33,000, and they are unsure what will happen now that the fees has been raised to N75,000.

When contacted, Professor Alexander Kure, the College’s Provost, confirmed the protest but said he was still investigating the cause.
