State Government slashes workdays to three for Civil Servants

The Governor of Kwara State, AbdulRaman Abdulrazaq, has given his approval for the reduction of workdays for civil servants in the state. As per the new directive, the workweek has been shortened from five days to three days.

In response to the Federal Government’s removal of petrol subsidy, a temporary measure has been implemented to provide some relief to workers.

The Governor’s directive to state workers was conveyed by Mrs. Susan Modupe Oluwole, the Head of Service in Kwara.

 

 

In a directive issued by Mrs Oluwole, all Heads of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) in the State have been instructed to promptly devise a schedule that outlines the rotational work days for their respective employees.

In a stern warning to workers, she emphasised the importance of not taking advantage of the Governor’s generosity. She further stated that her office would be increasing its monitoring of MDAs to ensure that they adhere to the rules and regulations.
