Nigerian Soldier Flogs Student To Death For Having ‘Bushy Hair’ At Command School In Enugu
A student from Enugu’s Command Secondary School was allegedly flogged to death by a soldier whose identity has not been revealed.
The senior secondary one (SS 1) student was repeatedly beaten on the head for allegedly having bushy hair and not getting a haircut before school.
The deceased’s mother announced his death in a Facebook post on the Nkanu People of Enugu State Nigeria platform, which included photos of him with a swollen eye and head before his death.

According to sources, the boy’s head began to swell, prompting his parents to transfer him from one hospital to another until his untimely death.
“It is still very hard to believe that you are gone my son,” Adaeze Chibuzo wrote on her Facebook page. “But one thing I know is that God will surely fight for us, rest in peace my son.”

Meanwhile, Facebook users have reacted to the incident, calling for justice and describing it as cruel.
“It is indeed a sad story what on earth did this boy commit to warrant such beating from a heartless soldier,” Mrs Eneh Nididiamaka wrote on Facebook. “Rest in peace, son.”
“This is exactly what happened to my kid brother last year November 2021, in the same skool (school), and now this story, today Paschal my brother is no longer Rip to this soul, it’s so painful, Paschal is supposed to be writing his WAEC exams by now, let God’s anger descend on the army killer of Paschal and this son of Ndidiamaka,” Nnaji Miriam Izuogu wrote.

“Madam, is very painful you have to lose your son yesterday I was very bitter when my son came back and was narrating the story to me,” another user, Oge Ezeji, wrote. A young man who is scheduled to begin his intercommand exam today. It will not be well with you, soldier.”

Meanwhile, attempts to get a response from the Army were unsuccessful because Col Abubakar Abdullahi, Deputy Army Public Relations, 82 Division, did not pick up his phone when our correspondent called him on his mobile line.
Brig-Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu, the Nigerian Army Public Relations Officer, did not return his calls or respond to his messages.
