Kastina State House has been robbed, 31 million Naira carted away

On July 31, suspected thieves allegedly broke into the Katsina State government house and stole N31 million.

Unknown persons broke into the office of the Financial Controller of the Government House and took the money kept in a sack, according to a top government source who confirmed the development to Newsmen.

According to the source, the theft occurred at night while the Financial Controller, Salisu Batsari, was at work.

“I haven’t seen the CCTV footage, but you know it’ll be part of what the cops ask for.” “However, I heard that the footage showed a man wearing a face mask entering the office through a half-closed window,” he said.

Al Amin Isa, the governor’s media aide, confirmed the incident but refused to reveal the amount of money taken.

“The incident has been reported to the police, and an investigation is underway,” he said.

Mr. Isa went on to say that the state government and police are investigating the theft and that the perpetrators will be held accountable.

He claimed that when the first theft occurred, the government took precautions to prevent it from happening again, but “you know how cunning these people can be.”

According to a government source who spoke on the condition of anonymity, some officials were arrested in connection with the development but later released.

“When the State government learned about the theft on Monday, it immediately contacted the police, and an investigation was launched.”

“The FC (financial controller) and some of his staff, as well as some security officers on duty on that fateful day, were summoned for questioning by the police,” he said.
