Veteran Afro Juju Musician Sir Shina Peters Ordained As Bishop

Sir , a popular Afro Juju musician, has been ordained a of the Church of Cherubim and Seraphim.

The legendary singer was ordained on Saturday at a ceremony held at the Cherubim and Seraphim Church in the Lagos area of Iju.

On Sunday with the caption,” with the swagger,’ the singer shared a video and photo of his ordination on his Instagram handle. The God above all.


The ace singer wrote in a separate message on his Facebook page,

“Glory be unto God. I am going to serve my God until the end.”

In order to congratulate him on his new role, his colleagues and fans have thronged his social media handles.

“Dayo Olomu, a UK-based public speaker and business coach, also shared photos of the singer’s ordination ceremony while Dele Momodu, publisher of Ovation International magazine, wrote, “Congratulations Bishop Isaac Oluwashina Akanbi Peters. Pataki Ore mi pataki. A ti ko esu ati gbogbo ise buruku owo re sile (My very dear friend. The devil and all his evil works were rejected by us).’

A collaboration with Teni on her hit,’ Jo’, released in December 2020, was the singer’s most recent music.

Interestingly, the Nollywood actress, Clarion Chukwuka, who is the mother of his son, has recently been ordained an evangelist by Clarence Peters, a top Nigerian music video director.

Ms. Chukwurah, who graduated in July 2020 from a theological school in Ikorodu, Lagos, still features in films once in a while.

In 1989, SSP, as he is fondly called, released his debut album, Ace (Afro-Juju Series 1), as a solo musician.

In the Nigerian music industry, the album went double platinum and was the career breakthrough that made him a household name.

Laolu Akins’ ‘Shinamania’ was released in 1991, winning three awards at a time with a Platinum Disc for selling over 250,000 copies.

To his credit, SSP currently has 16 album releases.
