Popular Islamic Cleric, Sheikh Gumi Finally Opens up on APC’S Muslim-Muslim Ticket, Called it “Wayo” in local parlance which translates to “Deciet”

Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, a well-known Muslim cleric from Kaduna, has called the Muslim-Muslim ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) “deceit” as the 2023 election approaches.

Since July, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Kashim Shettima’s Muslim-Muslim ticket for the APC has drawn criticism.

The same-faith ticket “is going to be a laboratory test for others to emulate or not,” according to Gumi, who recently spoke with the press on the state of the country and the general elections in 2023.

All of these politicians, as we all know, are after votes. The Muslim-Muslim ticket is wayo, if I may use the Hausa term (deceit). According to the preacher, it is not a religion.

I do not wish to predict if it will succeed or fail, but there are many obstacles.

In actuality, there are obstacles for every political party. Muslim-Muslim ticket will serve as a test case for others to follow or not.

Meanwhile, Rotimi Akeredolu, the Governor of Ondo State has stated that the APC’s Muslim-Muslim Ticket had been a Significant problem for them in their party but pleaded for support.

The Governor called on Christian Leaders to support the party noting that party’s selection of a Muslim-Muslim ticket would not cause any harm to their religion.
