Sergeant Guns Down Six Colleagues At Police Headquarters In Maiduguri
A police officer simply identified as Sergeant Bello has shot and killed at least six mobile police officers in Maiduguri, Borno State capital.
According to sources, the incident occurred inside the Borno Police Headquarters’ police college quarters in Maiduguri.

According to a senior police officer, the errant officer is currently being held at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID).
According to a family source, the police sergeant and his wife had a falling out, and neighbours tried to intervene, but he didn’t listen.
“He and his wife have been fighting for a long time; we tried to work out a solution amicably, but he refused.”
“The wife informed her parents that the sergeant had assaulted her, and she removed her belongings from his house.” Due to her husband’s severe mistreatment, the wife left.

“He began shooting and made threats to kill everyone.” Unfortunately, he fired shots, killing six mobile police officers and injuring two others who are being treated at Specialist Hospital.
“In the process, he razed two blocks of eight rooms and shot his father-in-law.”
At the time of filing this report, the line of the Police Public Relations Officer in Borno was switched off, making it impossible to get a response from the police.
