Amidst Muslim-Muslim Ticket Controversy, Religious Leaders Storm Unveiling Of APC’s Vice Presidential Candidate
Despite the intense controversy surrounding Kashim Shettima’s selection as the vice presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, some religious leaders descended on the location of the former Borno State governor’s presentation today.
Shettima, a Muslim from the North East, was chosen by Bola Tinubu, the APC’s presidential candidate.

This decision sparked intense debate about the relationship between politics and religion and claims that it did not accurately represent Nigeria’s multireligious society.
Many Christian leaders and organizations have continued to reject the choice, despite the candidate’s claims that it was driven by the necessity to pick the best candidate as his running mate in order to help them improve the appalling condition in the nation.
However, a large number of party members and supporters showed up at the unveiling, which has yet to begin as at the time if writing this report.
