The Police Service Commission has given the Nigeria Police Force two weeks to complete investigations into the case of suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police Abba Kyari.
The announcement was made by the Commission’s Head of Press and Public Relations, Ikechukwu Ani, in a statement released on Friday.
The police have also been asked by the Commission to ensure that the probe is conducted by a different panel.
The decision follows the Commission’s 14th plenary meeting in Abuja, which was chaired by Musiliu Smith, a retired Inspector-General of Police and Chairman of the Commission.

Mr Kyari was suspended on August 1, 2021, following Inspector General of Police Usma Baba’s recommendations about his alleged ties with fraudster Ramon Abbas, also known as Hushpuppi.
The suspension came after the Federal Bureau of Investigation of the United States of America indicted Kyari in a fraud case involving Instagram sensation Hushpuppi.
Kyari was the officer-in-charge of the Inspector-General of Police Intelligence Response Team until he was suspended by the commission.
