Breaking: President Buhari Appoints Professor Ibrahim Dantani Wushishi As Substantive NECO Registrar

President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Professor Ibrahim Dantani Wushishi as the Registrar/Chief Executive of the National Examinations Council (NECO).

The appointment, which is for a five-year first term, takes effect on July 12 according to a letter signed by the Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu.

Wushishi was a Professor of Science Education (Chemistry) at the Federal University of Technology, Minna, before his appointment as NECO boss.

He was born in the Wushishi Local Government Area of Niger State on April 5, 1965.

Professor Wushishi worked as a lecturer at Usmanu Danfodio University in Sokoto’s Faculty of Education before transferring to the Federal University of Technology in Minna.

He has also held positions in the education sector, including Post Graduate Coordinator, Department of Science Education, Federal University of Technology, Minna; Sub-Dean School of Science and Science Education, FUT, Minna; Head of Department, Department of Science Education, FUT Minna; Head of Department, Department of Science Education, Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai; and Head of Department, Department of Science Education, Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai.

Prof. Wushishi is a well-versed scholar with numerous scholarly papers to his name.
