The director of an Islamic human rights organisation, Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC), Professor Ishaq Akintola, narrowly avoided an attempted murder, Ejes Gist Newspaper reports
Prof. Akintola’s attempted “electrocution assassination” took place on Tuesday in an Abuja hotel.

On Tuesday morning, I got ready to take a bath after shaving. I went into the bathroom and made an attempt to turn on the water.
“As I attempted to switch on the water, a strong electric shock wave drove me back toward the door.
I was violently rattled, and I did not fully recover consciousness until a short while afterwards, Akintola claimed.
He declared that his “detractors” were to responsible for the incident and vowed that “the harder they try to get rid of me, the tougher I get by the Grace of Allah.”
Prof. Ishaq Akintola was hired as a lecturer at the Lagos State University (LASU) in 1984. He was born in the Obaloran Compound in Ile-Ife, Osun State.
He founded two Islamic organisations: Tele-Dawah, which uses television, radio, and public lectures to spread the message of Islam, and MURIC, which works to defend and advance the rights of Muslims in Nigeria and internationally.
