Presidency fires back at PDP, LP over alleged Tinubu’s anti-people policies
As Nigerians celebrate Eid-el-Kabir, the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Labour Party (LP) have accused the President Bola Tinubu-led All Progressives Congress (APC) administration of implementing anti-people policies that have made it difficult for many people to celebrate. On President Tinubu’s one-month anniversary in office, the PDP and LP criticized his administration, leading to a swift response from the Presidency, which claimed that the PDP was envious of Tinubu’s achievements in just three weeks.
The ruling APC urged Nigerians to continue supporting President Tinubu, as he is taking courageous steps to reposition the country for economic growth and greatness.

Eid al-Adha, also known as Eid-el-Kabir or the Feast of Sacrifice, is a significant Islamic tradition that commemorates Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son as commanded by Allah.
Congratulating Nigerians on the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir, the PDP cautioned the APC and the Federal Government against implementing policies that harm the people. The PDP urged Nigerians to pray for justice and the will of Allah in the nation’s affairs. The party commended Nigerians for their resilience in the face of economic hardship and encouraged them to maintain patience, hope, and trust in God.
The PDP expressed concern about the worsening economic crisis, the high cost of essential goods and services, and the collapse of citizens’ purchasing power.
Many Nigerians are unable to afford basic necessities and cannot celebrate with their loved ones due to hardship and insensitive policies imposed by the APC government. The PDP urged Nigerians not to lose sight of the essence of Eid-el-Kabir and to unite in love and support for one another during these challenging times.
Dismissing the PDP’s claims of anti-people policies, the Presidency stated that the PDP is envious of the APC government’s achievements in just three weeks. The Presidency highlighted that President Tinubu’s administration has accomplished what the PDP could not achieve in 16 years. The Presidency expected the PDP to make worse criticisms in the coming days, considering their alleged lack of mental capacity and managerial acumen during their time in power.

The Labour Party (LP) criticized President Tinubu’s administration for continuing the wasteful lifestyle of its predecessor, pointing to a long convoy of vehicles and bloated bureaucracy.
The LP found it ironic that an administration with its legitimacy being challenged in court would ask Nigerians to make sacrifices while living in opulence. The LP expressed concern about the rising cost of living and called for a reduction in the cost of governance.
