What has been a stunning and rather sad turn of events, a heavily pregnant woman is now dead after engaging in a fight with her neighbor in Ugep town, Yakurr Local Government Area of Cross River State.
Journalist Agba Jalingo confirmed the incident in a post on Facebook Friday, July 26, 2024. According to Jalingo, trouble started when the child of the now-deceased woman and a child of her neighbor engaged in a fight.

The exchange spiralled out of control and snowballed into the two women engaging in a physical fight.
“The deceased who was heavily pregnant lost her life in the process. It is not clear if the police have intervened,” Jalingo wrote.
The news has sent shockwaves in the community, which is in mourning and now demanding proper investigation into the causes of the accident and that justice be done.
