A Popular Nigerian Politician has Slumped and Died in Abuja.

, the Chairman of the Akwanga Local Government Council in Nasarawa State, North Central Nigeria, has died.

On Monday, the deceased had a meeting with his council members at the council secretariat in the state’s Akwanga local government area. Shortly after the meeting, he slumped at the council secretariat.

Leweh, who had only been in office for three months, died on Thursday night at a private hospital in Abuja.

Meanwhile, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has said on Thursday that it had arrested a suspected fake Army General for alleged N270 million fraud.

Bolarinwa Oluwasegun was arrested by EFCC operatives from the Lagos zonal command, according to the EFCC’s spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren.

Mr Oluwasegun is accused of lying to the complainant, Kodef Clearing Resources, by claiming that President Muhammadu Buhari had shortlisted him and another candidate for the position of Chief of Army Staff (COAS), and that he needed a small grant “to press and process the appointment.”

He was also accused of forging a letter of appointment as COAS that was allegedly signed by the President and showing it to the victim to back up his claim.
