This comes as Fulani herdsmen terrorise the Barmo community in Nasarawa State’s Wamba Local Council.
A community in Nasarawa state has requested assistance from the federal government.
Fulani herdsmen have been terrorising the Barmo Community in Nasarawa State’s Wamba Local Council for months, according to the community.
The appeal comes after Samuel Monday, 30, was killed by men believed to be herders on July 26.
Fulani herdsmen, according to community members, have continued to terrorise the area, stealing motorcycles and destroying farmland.
The community members made the plea when Dogo Shammah, the Commissioner for Information, Culture, and Tourism, visited the bereaved family and Barmo Cement Community yesterday, July 27.
Chief Yakubu Sarki of Barmo Village revealed that the once-stick-wielding herdsmen had turned to criminality.
He stated, ” “I’ve been attacked by herdsmen. Two armed Fulani men recently attacked me in my farm.”
One of the herdsmen who killed Monday and snatched his motorcycle was arrested by community youths and handed over to Wamba police, according to the royal father.q
