Labour Party Presidential Candidate, Peter Obi Postpones Campaign Council Inauguration
The Inauguration of Peter Obi’s campaign councils has reportedly been delayed. He is the Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate, Ejes Gist Newspaper reports.
This online news source states that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has lifted the ban on political campaigning as of today, September 28, 2022 which invariably connotes that campaigns for the 2023 General elections commenced today Wednesday 28 September, 2022.
His campaign council has not yet been formed by the Labour Party, despite reports that he was conducting nationwide surveys.
The Labour Party’s National Publicity Secretary, Abayomi Arabambi, said that the organisation has no plans to host any inaugurations when speaking to newsmen on Tuesday about Obi’s campaign.
However, he asserted that the candidate would present his platform the same day he unveiled the members of his presidential campaign team.
We are not currently holding an inauguration, Arabambi said. Our candidate is concentrating on organizing the membership of his presidential campaign council and the widespread polling he is doing.
The Labour Party spokesperson said he was unable to provide a specific date when asked if the PCC will be ready this week.
