Peter Obi, the ’s candidate for president in the 2023 election, paid a private visit to Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State, on Monday night in Port Harcourt, the state’s capital.

Recall that In June, Obi paid Wike a visit.

The former governor of Anambra was taken inside Wike’s home on Monday night after arriving, where they had a private meeting.

According to rumours, the Labour Party candidate visited Wike to enlist his support before the 2023 presidential election.

Wike was a candidate for president (PDP).

Atiku Abubakar, the former vice president of Nigeria, defeated him in the party’s presidential primary with 371 votes to Wike’s 237.

One of the PDP’s candidates for president this year was Obi, who served as Abubakar’s running mate in the PDP for the 2019 presidential election.

A few days before the PDP’s presidential primary, he announced his resignation from the party, citing party policies that were at odds with his “belief and persona.”

He defected to the Labour Party, where he later became the party’s nominee for president in 2023.

Olusegun Mimiko, a former governor of Ondo State and a leader of the PDP in Ondo State, Donald Duke, a former governor of Cross River State, Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo of the PDP, a former governor of Gombe State, of Benue State, and Governor of Abia State Okezie Ikpeazu were also present at the meeting on Monday night (PDP).
