Prof. Pat Utomi of the Labour Party says Peter Obi’s manifesto for the 2023 elections is ready and will be released before the campaign begins next week.

Utomi revealed this during an exclusive interview with Vanguard in Abuja.

According to him, Peter Obi 2023 manifesto is complete but has been carefully guarded to prevent opposition candidates from stealing it.

“A manifesto has been prepared and will be released before the campaign begins. We have it, but we’ve decided to keep it hidden until the campaigns begin.”

In response to a question about opposition parties’ belief that the Labour Party lacks structure, Utomi said those who hold such beliefs are ignorant.

He claimed that the LP has a much larger superstructure than the LP.

APC and PDP have been merged.

‘Those who understand structure understand that the LP has a better structure than the PDP and APC in Nigerian terms. We are going to energise all of NLC’s registered members into a structure so that it becomes a superstructure.

“We have a big tent that includes several social movements and political parties, including the Labour Party. Several of these political movements, such as the Congress of Professionals, a fantastic Nigerian project, have 6 million members spread across the country.

“From these groups, LP have approximately seven superstructures that are far larger than either APC or PDP. We also have faith-based structures, religious movements, and structures all over the place. We have a structure with the political party and several political movements.

“Our party has a secretariat directorate that communicates with all support groups; there are special apps and portals from which specific assignments are distributed, performance is measured, and feedback is provided. It is intended to bring them together and make them productive.”

“We will create an enabling environment,” he said of the party’s plans to mobilise support groups. We plan to form a committee to oversee both the fundraising and campaign processes by next week. Mobile apps, portals from which performance will be measured and feedback from polling booths will be collected.

“There is a body in the United States that will train a lot of support groups, and we will create a special group that will train people on fundraising and campaigning from us.”

“You send us what you usually do, and we see what they want to do and how to create a large tent for Peter Obi’s campaign organisation.” Donor organisations will raise funds for support groups and Nigerians who want to support the movement.”
