Peter Obi attends Afenifere meeting, vows to restructure Nigeria

The Labour Party (LP) Presidential Candidate, Former Governor Peter Obi, attended the monthly meeting of Afenifere on Tuesday at the Isanya-Ogbo country home of the group’s leader, Chief Ayo Adebanjo, and pledged to reconstruct Nigeria if elected.

Ejes Gist Newspaper obtained reliable information that the Afenifere leaders who were present at the meeting welcomed Obi with joy.

The Labour Party presidential candidate spoke at length to the gathering about his vision for Nigeria and how it can be changed into a country that all Nigerians can be proud of and where we can all contribute based on our own abilities without prejudice.

In particular, he stressed his commitment to restructuring Nigeria in order to achieve justice, equity, and speedy development, a source who was present at the meeting told Ejes Gist Newspaper

He acknowledged his gratitude for the Afenifere’s backing for always acting in the best interests of the country, despite initial criticism.

If elected president in 2023, Obi also vowed not to let the Afenifere, the young, or Nigerians down.

Pa Adebanjo remarked during the meeting that Afenifere chose to join Obi because of his plan to re-organise Nigeria.

The Ohanaeze members informed him that they had not made up their minds about whether to support Peter Obi because they are not a political party when we travelled to Abuja. He said: “I told them that if they are not supporting Obi, the Afenifere will stand by him.
