Peter Obi Leads by 51% in We2Geda Foundation Presidential polls

Ejes Gist Newspaper reports that Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party (LP), is currently in the lead among the other candidates in the race for the presidency in 2023, according to a recent poll.

This online media platform discovered that the poll was carried out by a public advocacy organisation known as the We2Geda Foundation on September 17, 2022.

On the other hand, the results of the poll were made public on Tuesday by Ibrahim Abdulkareem, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of We2Geda, and Muna Obioha, a member of the Board of Trustees (BoT).

According to the results of the survey, fifty-one percent of respondents indicated that they would cast their vote for Obi as their preferred candidate, while twenty-five percent of respondents indicated that they would cast their vote for Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) as their candidate.

According to the poll, Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) came in third place in the poll of voter preferences with 19 percent.

“Further analysis also shows that Peter Obi remained a consistent favourite in the four major geopolitical zones including North-Central, South-South, South-West and South-East,” the group stated. “However, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar was the poll leader in the NorthEast and NorthWest zones,” the statement continued.

The organisation revealed that a random survey with a total of 15,438 registered voters in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory had the highest number of responses from Nigerians between the ages of 26 and 50 years old.
