For insulting and Secretary to the of the Federation (SGF) Boss Mustapha, Ikamu Hamidu Kato, an Adamawa state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party Youth Leader, has been sentenced to one year in prison.

Kato referred to and Boss Mustapha as “useless human beings” in a viral video he published on social media on July 10, 2021, and specifically labelled the SGF a “Bastard and a Dog.”

The Department of State Security arraigned the PDP youth leader in Hong council area before a Chief Magistrate Court on Monday, August 2, and sentenced him to prison.

The prosecution called two witnesses: Zayyanu Adamu, a DSS operative, and Husseini Nakura, chairman of Adamawa State Concern Citizen. They also presented Kato’s confessional statement and a USB drive as exhibits.

After pleading guilty to instigating public disorder, Kato was sentenced to one year in prison for insulting President Buhari and another year for insulting Boss Mustapha.

Both sentences will run consecutively, with an N25,000 fine as an option, according to Chief Magistrate Dimas Elishama.
