PDP caretaker committee secretary, others defect to APC

A number of well-known politicians joined the in Kebbi State after leaving the .

Alhaji Rabiu Sa’idu, a former party auditor general, , a former party caretaker committee secretary, and 15 other PDP executive members from the Bubuce ward in the Augie Local Government Area were among the defectors.

Others included Hamza Kilu, Auditor, Salihu Shayi, Youth Leader, Alhaji Idi Bubuche, Vice Chairman of the Bubuche Ward, and Umaru Wakkala, Treasurer.

The former Auditor-General of the party, Saidu, spoke shortly after making their announcement to join the ruling party and blamed his defection on the “sterling leadership qualities of Gov. Atiku Bagudu.”

Why they defected

Additionally, he claimed that he had renounced his PDP membership because of alleged injustice and violations of party members’ rights.

Saidu thanked Magajin Rafin Kabi and Alhaji Bello Dantani for helping him and his supporters defect to the APC.

“I am impressed with the road infrastructure development in Augie Local Government Area under the leadership of Sen. Abubakar Atiku Bagudu,” said Sirajo Ibrahim Augie, a former PDP Caretaker Secretary.

One of the most crucial roads was built by the current administration, led by Sen. Abubakar Atiku Bagudu.

Alhaji Bashir Isah-Mera, the chairman of the Augie Local Government APC, Alhaji Lawal Muhammad-Yola, the head of the Augie Local Government Area, Alhaji Haruna Maitandu, the head of the Pilgrims Welfare Agency, and Alhaji Bello Dantani, the former head of the Direct Labour Agency, were all present.
