Residents of the Mosogar town in Delta State’s Ethiope West Local Area have been terrified by a gas pipeline explosion near the Warri-Benin road.

At the time of this report, the reason of the gas pipeline explosion was unknown, although a source indicated the explosion was caused by corroded piping.

Residents have fled their homes as a result of the blast, fearing a fire spread.

DSP Bright Edafe, the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the explosion and the apprehension in the village.

The gas pipeline erupted as a result of a leak, according to the Police Public Relations Officer.

“They claimed it wasn’t vandalism [vandalism].” They claimed pipeline leaking was to blame.”
