The “Osodi-Odu” Ahaba” of Asaba kingdom,
, Chief (Dr) , has called on African universities to do more in research, for development of the continent.

Chief Offiah made the call when he received an honourary award of Doctor of Science, by Afriford University of Repulic of Benin, in Cotonou, which took place at Asaba, capital.

According to Dr Offiah, whose 69th birthday, coincided with the conferment, there was need to bring the required developments to the African nations for more employment, improved health system and economy, through education.

He appealed to federal of Nigeria, to resolve the lingering issue of ASUU strike.

Chief Offiah, whose son; Barr. Chike Offiah, was also confered with ‘Doctor of Law,’ promised to use his knowledge and skills, to advance the course of humanity and to remain good ambassador of the great University.

Dignitaries at the event included ’s functionaries from Delta state, members of Nigerian Bar Association, representatives of the Asagba of Asaba; professor Chike Odozie, and members of the white cap chiefs, in the palace.
