Another Source who doesn’t want his name to be mentioned due to security reasons said, five persons, have been picked up by the Nigeria Army to an unknown destination.
He said, “The latest happenings in Ugborhen is not about Jenekpo boys or Ashana boys.
The issue is about Udumugbako quarter, the General youth President Mr Christian Okokoro was suspended for leading a protest to Seplat feild 25th October 2019. Later a clique of youths in Udumugbako quarter went to install Mr Ukweje Joshua aka 70 as the new General Youth president 27th October. This was done without the knowledge of Ilori, elders and President Akume.
On the 2nd of November 2019, Udumugbako youth called for a general meeting for the Chairman to account for the funds in his custody. He insisted that he can only do so on the 9th of November 2019.
That is how the fracas started, it was a free for all fight. Mr Patrick Akpolo from Okuoghara spearheaded the fight by instigating it to be about the two leaders, Ukweje was injured with a score of others.
At 1:00 am 4th November 2019, the community was raided in a Gestapo style by police and vigilante from Amukpe, broke down doors of their perceived enemies. They even went up to Ikeresan to arrest Andrew Eyuro who is not registered in Ugborhen, they also arrested three other Ugborhen men who are now in Sapele police station.
It was gathered that the attack was later repelled after police and vigilante squad left Ugborhen, they started war song and chanting slogan
The culprits are on the run, the authorities know these individuals already.
Ugborhen has been witnessing fight and violence for years this is not different or tied to any leaders. But I tell you this will the last time. For love to blossom as being preached here the truth must say and followed always. We all know the truth and happenings in Ugborhen we ignore and pretend. Enough is enough. The full weight of the law must take its course this time.
This was what happened between 2003 and 2006 in Ugborhen and the same set of people who unleashed violence in Ugborhen are still instigating this current crisis but this time they will not go scot-free. We will arrest them and make sure they face the full wrath of the law.
The community has been faced with Leadership Crisis since the drilling of oil in the community, which has to lead to the militarization of the community for the safety of life and property.
