Student Macheted To Death As SUG Election Turns Bloody in Ondo Polytechnic

On Wednesday, at the Ondo State-owned Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, in Owo, Ondo State, there was a pandemonium, as a polytechnic student yet to be identified has been macheted to death.

The institution’s Public Relations Officer, Samuel Ojo, confirmed  the incident in a telephone chat with Ejes Gist Naija News.

However, the cause of the student’s death is yet to be known.

The incident also coincides with the Polytechnic’s election to the Students Union Government.

But the PRO rejected rumours that the killing could be linked to the election of the SUG, saying that there was no evidence for this and that the killing occurred outside the polytechnic campus.

The Spokesman for Ondo State Police Command, ASP Tee-Leo Ikoro, said that the incident had yet to be briefed at the time of filing this report.
