NYSC warns corps members against strike
The National Youth Service Corps said on Friday that the NYSC does not go on strike, serving and prospective corps members must be disciplined and committed to the organization’s rules.

The organisation urged corps members to be change agents and work to dispel the myth surrounding COVID-19 vaccination, noting that “NYSC Corps personnel were working” during the recent Nigeria Association of Resident Doctors strike.
The NYSC also drew prospective corps members’ attention to the use of social media, emphasising that they should only follow official NYSC handles for accurate information.

According to a statement from NYSC Director (Press and Public Relations), Adenike Adeyemi, the agency’s Director-General, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim, appealed a webinar hosted by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control in collaboration with NYSC aimed at informing prospective corps members about safety measures taken to ensure a safe and COVID-19-free orientation course across the country.
In a statement, the NYSC DG warned, “We don’t go on strike.”
He advised them to seize the opportunity provided by the federal government by making themselves available for the COVID-19 vaccination, which is currently taking place across the country.
According to him, the partnership between the NCDC and NYSC has remained strong in the fight against the deadly pandemic.
