Nse Ikpe-Etim, a Nollywood actress, has spoken out about her feelings about not having her own children.

Ikpe-Etim, 47, previously stated that she had to have her uterus removed after being diagnosed with adenomyosis.
Ejes Gist Newspaper reports adenomyosis is a condition in which endometrial tissue grows into the uterine wall.
Adenomyosis usually appears late in a woman’s reproductive years and disappears after menopause.
Heavy or prolonged menstrual bleeding, severe cramping, pain during intercourse, or blood clots that pass during a period are all symptoms of adenomyosis.

The actress said she was not ashamed of her inability to have children in an interview with Chude Jideonwo.
“Finding out I couldn’t have children didn’t make me ashamed,” she says. I felt insufficient.

“I felt inadequate as a woman but not ashamed.”
“We don’t associate shame with ourselves where I come from.” We live life to the fullest where I grew up.”
“You never say never,” Ikpe-Etim said when asked if she is open to adoption. “Right now, my husband and I are just dog parents.”
