This is happening exactly two weeks after gunmen kidnapped and killed the Chairman of Ardo-Kola local government Council, Hon. Salihu Dovo.

In the early hours of Sunday, Peter Jediel, the Taraba State Council Chairman of the Nigerian Labour Congress, was abducted by some gunmen.

Jediel’s younger brother, Mr. Fidelis Jediel, told reporters that the president of the State NLC was picked up at his home in Sunkani, Ardo-Kola, Taraba local government area, at about 12:55 a.m.

According to Fidelis, the gunmen forced their way into the house and kidnapped him at gunpoint in their numbers.

This is exactly two weeks after the gunmen kidnapped and killed the Ardo-Kola Local Government Council Chairman, Hon. Dovo Salihu.

In Taraba State, Reform Leha, efforts to get the reaction of the Acting Police Public Relations Officer proved abortive.

He did not select calls placed on his telephone line and did not respond to a message sent to his line by text.

Family sources said the suspected kidnappers had yet to establish contact with the family at the time of filing this report.
