Federal Government finally Announce NIN Registration Extension Deadline for Nigerians to link their sim cards with NIN

NIN Registration Deadline Extension 

The deadline for Nigerians to register and link their National Identification Number (NIN) to their SIM cards has been extended  February 9, 2021 by the  Federal Government.

This data was posted on the NIMC’s official Twitter account.

Initially, the NIMC gave a deadline of 19 January for those with NIN and 9 February for those without NIN.

The tweet reads: “All Nigerians and legal residents are advised to register before February 9th, 2021, for their national identification number (NIN) and link them.”

“Remember please, NIN enrollment is FREE.”

Earlier on Tuesday, a statement signed by its Public Affairs Officer, Dr. Ikechukwu Adinde, was issued by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).

Adinde said that the Technical Implementation Committee reported substantial progress in the ongoing NIN-SIM linkage exercise at the end of a review meeting on January 18, 2021.

The mobile operators earned a total of 47.8 million NINs, with an average of three to four SIMs per subscriber.
