  1) On Sunday, the Nigeria Labour Congress declined to attend a meeting called by the Federal Government to discuss the removal of fuel subsidies and the subsequent increase in pump prices across the country. The union insisted that it would not speak with government representatives until a legitimate team was assembled.   2) The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has urged President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima to follow the late President Umaru Yar’ Adua’s example by publicly disclosing their assets as a sign of their commitment to leading by example. On Sunday, PDP National Publicity Secretary Debo Ologunagba made the announcement.   3) Oil marketers predict that the ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit, commonly known as petrol, will reach N515 per litre once they obtain the foreign exchange rate for the importation of PMS from the parallel market. Ex-depot price is the price at which marketers purchase products from the depot, which determines the price they charge motorists at petrol stations.   4) The Senate has indicted the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation for failing to repay short-term loans to Ministries, Departments, and Agencies totaling N910 billion from Special Funds Accounts. Following a thorough investigation by the Senate Public Accounts Committee, chaired by Senator Mathew Urhoghide, the lawmakers came to this conclusion.   5) On Sunday, the 14 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Ohafia, raided a baby factory in Umunkpei Nvosi, Isiala-Ngwa Local Government Area, Abia State, which was allegedly run by a local resident. When the troops arrived at the facility, they rescued 22 women, including 21 pregnant women and two infants (a boy and a girl).   6) The Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has denied the allegation that he frequently beat his wife, Mrs. Oluwaseun. Under the auspices of the Society for Women Empowerment, a group alleged that Ayedatiwa had physically assaulted his wife twice in four months, a violation of his office’s code of ethics. However, the deputy governor stated in a statement that he had never raised his hand to strike his wife.   7) Approximately 37 people have reportedly been killed and several others injured in attacks on three communities in the Tangaza local government area of the state of Sokoto. There are Raka, Raka Dutse, and Filin Gawa communities. Saturday evening, according to eyewitness accounts, the bandits attacked the communities.   8) The Trade Union Congress (TUC) urged the Federal Government on Sunday to revert to the previous petrol pump price of N194 per litre while negotiations continue over the recent increase of between N488 and N558 per litre caused by the removal of subsidy.   9) The governor of Lagos, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has urged the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, to cancel its planned strike against the removal of fuel subsidies. He stated, “Now is not the time for a strike.” After a post-inauguration thanksgiving service at the Cathedral Church of Christ, Governor Sanwo-Olu spoke.   10) Rev. Fr. Stanislaus Mbamara, a priest of the Nnewi Catholic Diocese who was abducted by gunmen on Friday evening, has regained his freedom. Rev. Fr. Raphael Edeogu, chancellor of the diocese, stated that the priest was released on Sunday after spending two days in captivity.
