Nigerian Idol 2022 – On the latest episode of the Nigerian Idol auditions, which aired last Sunday on Africa Magic Showcase, Urban, and Family, the search for more golden ticket holders continued. On this episode, the contestants came in excited and ready to impress the judges, but not everyone was successful.
Osemeke’s rendition of Lady Gaga’s “You and I” fell short of the judges’ expectations, as he was clearly off-key throughout. Although the judges couldn’t deny that he looked hot in his outfit, Omawunmi advised him to work on his vocal control.
On the other hand, some contestants came prepared to win the golden ticket, and they certainly did so with the night’s exciting renditions. Isioma, 30, was one of the contestants who stood out.
She wowed the judges with a stellar performance of FAVE’s ‘Baby Riddim,’ earning three ‘yeses,’ including D’banj’s now-famous remark, “Your face show, your shoeshine.” Her self-assurance and talent earned her the moniker ‘Queen of Vibes’ on social media.
Yinka Davies, an Afrojazz singer, joined Obi Asika and D’banj as a guest judge on the show, which is sponsored by Binance and Bigi, for the next round of auditions.
Yinka Davies is a Nigerian singer, dancer, painter, and actor who has worked in the entertainment industry for three decades.
She is also one of the longest-serving judges in Nigerian Idol’s history. She began judging when the show premiered in 2010 and continued for another four seasons.
Some of her remarks for the night, as a seasoned judge, were particularly amusing, such as when she told Remi that with a voice like his, he’s well on his way to becoming a superstar. Yinka Davies, on the other hand, always let them down subtly with his less-than-stellar performances.
At the conclusion of the show, four contestants were chosen for the ‘Chorus line audition,’ which would allow them to advance to theatre week.
Following their audition, they were divided into three rooms, one of which housed the survivors, but we’ll have to wait until next week to see who makes it to theatre week.
Viewers from all over Africa have watched many talented Nigerians audition for a spot in the next round of the singing competition over the past four weeks.
75 of these performers will compete in the theatre week the following Sunday to prove they have what it takes to advance to the next round.
