Kelvin Odenigbo, a Nigerian footballer who played for FC Vitebsk in Belarus, was discovered dead after drowning in a lake.
The 20-year-old striker’s body was discovered on Saturday, June 5 by the lake Beloye, a tourist area in the Vitebsk region, according to a statement made by the Belarusian Premier League club.

“We send our heartfelt condolences to the football player’s family and friends. According to the football club Vitebsk, OSVOD staff discovered Kelvin Odenigbo drowned on the lake Beloye, near the tourist base Verasy, on June 5, 2021.

Odenigbo came to the club on loan from NAF Rockets FC of the Nigerian National League at the end of last season, before making the move permanent for the 2021/22 season.
In four games for sixth-placed Vitebsk, he scored one goal.
