Nigeria vs Canada full time Score: Falconets 3 – 1 Canada

Following Nigeria’s 3-1 victory over Canada on Thursday morning at the Estadio Alejandro Morera Soto in Alajueda, Esther Onyenezide was named Woman of the Match.

Ejes Gist Newspaper reports that  Onyenezide scored twice for the Falconets.

Deep into extra time, substitute Chioma Olise scored the third goal.

In his last three matches for Nigeria in the competition, Onyenezide has scored three goals.

It should be noted that she had previously been honoured as Woman of the Match in Nigeria’s matchup with Korea Republic.

With nine points from three games, the Falconets finished the group stage.

On Sunday, Chris Danjuma’s team will play the Netherlands in the quarterfinals.


The Falconets will play Canada U-20 in the FIFA Women’s U-20 World Cup knowing they’ve already qualified for the quarterfinals. The Nigerians will attempt to build on their promising start thus far and select the crucial factors to ensure group leadership.
