Nigeria On Fire,  President Buhari Should Act Now –NEF

President Muhammadu Buhari has been called on by the Northern Elders Forum (NEF) to act now as the country is currently divided along tribal lines.

Ejes Gist Naija News reports that through their spokesperson, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, NEF made the call.

On Saturday night, in a Twitter post, he called on President Buhari to act quickly as the country is being’ set on fire.’

Baba-Ahmed said that Nigerians living in any part of the country had to be protected, adding that in response to the alleged attack on northerners in the south, there would be no attack on southerners living in the north.

“Baba-Ahmed said, “Attacking innocent southerners living in the north will not be the correct response to attacks on northerners in the south.

We should demand that where Nigerians are, they must be protected. Chairman and Governors must do something! They’re setting the land under you on fire! ”

Remember that three people were reportedly killed in a clash at Shasha Market between the Hausa-speaking people and the Yorubas.

The disturbing event led to the destruction of shops and property by hoodlums who took advantage of the clash, it was learned. Residents were reported to have been forced to flee the troubled area around 5:30 pm.

It was said that some lucky residents hurriedly picked up a few clothes with them as they were uncertain if the violence would not escalate. Police operatives, confirming the report to newsmen, revealed that one individual died in the attack, contrary to traders’ claims.
