1) Austin Umahi , the younger brother of Ebonyi State Governor Dave Umahi, has declined to serve as the Secretary of the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) under President Muhammadu Buhari .

Austin Umahi claimed in a statement in Abakaliki that the appointment was not appropriate for someone of his social standing but rather for job seekers or retired civil servants.

2) Abdulmalik Muhammed Tanko, the owner of Noble Kids College, and another man, Hashimu Isyaku, both 38, have been sentenced to death by hanging for the kidnapping and murder of Hanifa Abubakar, a five-year-old student at the school, by the Kano State High Court, presided over by Justice Usman Naabba.
