Kidnappers Kill Graduate After Collecting Ransom

A 32-year-old graduate of Yola, Adamawa State’s Moddibo Adama University (MAU) was shot dead by his captors after they had received N500,000 in ransom from his family.

Along with six other people, Abdulmalik Tukur, who just finished the one-year National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme in Plateau State, was abducted from his family’s home in the Vinkilang neighbourhood outside of Yola on Monday night.

According to a source who spoke to Newsmen, each victim was freed after a ransom of up to N400,000 was paid. However, the ransom demand for Abdulmalik’s release from captivity was N50 million.

1) The women’s 100-meter hurdles gold medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, United Kingdom has been won by Nigerian Tobi Amusan.

In the women’s 100-meter hurdles final on Sunday at the Alexander Stadium, the world champion successfully defended her title.

Amusan became the first world champion to win gold and the first Nigerian athlete to do so when she ran a Games record of 12.30 seconds while also setting other records.

2) Ese Brume has won Gold in the women’s long jump event of the Commonwealth Games after leaping a distance of 6.99m.

Ejes Gist Newspaper Recall that Halima Abubakar previously disclosed that she had a strange illness as a result of sleeping with the well-liked minister, Johnson Suleman.

6) The Osun State Police Command on Sunday morning arrested Rasheed Hammed, also known as Rasidi Oko’lu, a suspected cultist, about five months after he was listed as wanted.
