WAEC 2022 Massive Recruitment for Graduates - APPLY NOW

Dear Comrade,

This is to formally invite you to a National Congress of the National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS) to address all lingering issues about the leadership and administration of our noble Association.

2. This invite is informed by the controversial outcome of the Unity Convention held in Abuja between 3rd – 5th December 2021 where the Convention Planning Committee was hand-twisted by compromised stakeholders resulting to the unconstitutional and illegal allowance for participation of disqualified aspirants whose studentship status by Department of State Security Service (DSS) confirmed via a report on their studentship verification to be graduates, haven written their final examinations and awaiting NYSC mobilisation.

3. This has not only unsettled the Association but has greatly generated tension amongst its ranks, even as the first runner-up of the election has petitioned several concerned stakeholders and relevant authorities including the outgoing leadership of NAPS to address what he considers to be unconstitutional and unjust with a view of restoring the dignity of our esteemed Association.

4. Also of significance is the fact that many Aspirants who were screened for the position of Vice President National Affairs were denied access to the Convention ground to contest for the position they are vying for despite fulfilling all the requirements to vie for that office, whereas an Aspirant who never picked form for the position was declared winner, among other several complaints, petitions and reservations received by the outgoing leadership.

5. We hereby invite the legitimate Students Union Presidents, reasonable stakeholders and indeed, interested Nigerian polytechnic students to this National Congress to deliberate on these issues among others, and to chart the best way forward for our dear organization.

6. The congress is scheduled to hold as follows:
Date: 26th – 28th January 2022
Venue: Aso Hall International Conference Center Abuja.

Time: 10:am prompt

7. For the avoidance of doubt, please be informed that verification of the identity of all participants shall be conducted at the gate before entrance. Furthermore, all SUG Presidents are advised to come along with their School identity card and Union Executive ID card for identification and ease of access.

8. All aspirants who were duly screened and secured qualification status in the last publication of the 2021 Aspirants Screening and Verification Report are enjoined to attend the congress being the highest decision making organ of the Association.

Yours in the Struggle,
Asuku Sunday
