Meanwhile, on Tuesday, the Nigerian stock market was unable to recover from the loss it sustained the previous day, resulting in equity capitalization that plummeted to N26.77 trillion.

The figure represented a decline of -0.06 percentage points, or N18.3 billion, compared to the N26.79 trillion that was recorded by the bourse as its closing value on Monday.

Additionally, the All-Share Index fell by 34.06 basis points to finish the day at 49,642.69, which is lower than the previous day’s closing value of 49,676.75 recorded.

On Tuesday, investors engaged in 4,145 transactions that resulted in the trading of 125.94 million shares with a value of 3.07 billion naira.

This result was significantly lower than the 232.94 million shares worth N2.18 billion that were sold by investors in 4,425 separate transactions on Monday.

The share price of ETranzact increased by N0.22kobo, taking it from N2.28kobo to N2.50kobo, making it the company at the top of the list of gainers.

The price of a share of Sovereign Insurance increased by 7.69 percent, moving up from N0.26kobo to N0.28kobo.

The price of one share of Vitafoam increased to N23.60kobo at the end of trading, which is a 1.60kobo increase from the previous price of N22.

Japaul Gold saw a price increase of 6.45 percent to finish the day at N0.33kobo per share, which is higher than its opening price of N0.31kobo.

“We are talking to some agencies to see how this can be replicated here in Nigeria, but at this point in time, that conversation has not reached a point where implementation can take place.”
