A year before, Minister Lai Mohammed had referred the same statement.

But speaker from Borno claimed that there was no evidence to justify the displacement of citizens of Borno.

Borno State Speaker, Abdulkareem Lawan,
disagree with the former Chief of Defence Staff who said that no part of Nigeria is under Boko Haram’s control. I make this claim because my state has been affected by Boko Haram for the past three years.

As I speak to you, there is no single inhabitant of Guzamala’s entire territory. Sadly, there is no military presence or military personnel in my local government.

I have heard the minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed say that no single local government area has been conquered by Boko Haram

This creates anxiety because there are 774 local government areas in Nigeria. I don’t know whether the federal government has said that no local government area is under Boko Haram’s jurisdiction.

And finally, “what if there were none at all?” Isn’t the African state? Have we been cut off from the rest of the world? If that is the case, then it would be beneficial for the federal government to provide clear clarification.

For the past year, the Borno state governor, Professor Babagana Zulum, has been visiting all the areas that have been liberated from the Boko Haram terrorists. the government house. However, Maghreb states were never visited.”

The speaker stated that all 10 local government areas in the Northern Borno Senatorial District (North-B) were not free of Boko Haram.

“Most of the IDPs (Internally Displaced People) that were relocated to the temporary centers do not live in their original community.” Where exactly Boko Haram and its members have attacked? You can’t even tell exactly where they are attacking. ”

The speaker highly recognized President Buhari for naming new service chiefs

He called on the new commanders to make “the permanent elimination of the insurgents” the first priority.

We are not merely pleased with the new set of civil services chiefs particularly the Clerk of Court of Supreme Court and the Chief of Army Staff, who were once commanders of the Lafiya Dole Theatre Command in Borno State.

We beg of them to send more troops to the north part of Nigeria where the Boko Haram militants are present in my local government area.

In his speech at the retired service chiefs entree ceremony last week, the former CDS said that during his watch, the armed forces had regained the 20 local government that were under the control of the insurgents in 2015.

“We could recall that at the inception of the current administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, the Boko Haram terrorist group occupied 20 out of 26 local government areas in Borno State,” Olonisakin, who retired as a four-star General, said.

“On assuming office in Nigeria we had to flush out Boko Haram and restore Nigeria’s sovereignty over the conquered territories.

With the help of political leadership and indeed all Nigerians, the armed forces under my leadership were able to retake the occupied territories that were formerly dominated by Boko Haram.”
