A leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State named has deserted the party as the 2023 general election draws near.

Princewill, a supporter of Rotimi Amaechi, the former minister of transportation, claimed on Tuesday that he had left the APC because Bola Tinubu had chosen Senator Kashim Shettima to be his running partner in the upcoming presidential election.

In a letter to the Chairman of Ward 3 (Royal Ward), Buguma City, in the Asari Toru Local Government Area (LGA), Princewill, a former candidate for governor, stated  “I cannot argue for equality in my state and defend inequity in my country.” He called Tinubu’s decision “very disrespectful.”

It creates a disastrous precedent, its completely insensitive, and will be detrimental to good governance even if he succeed.

In light of these catastrophic conditions, I can no longer, in good faith, say that I am a member of a political party that prioritizes electoral success over public safety and civilian tranquility.
