Muazu Sambo Confirmed As Power Minister-designate, vows to tackle Mambilla Project

Muazu Sambo

has been confirmed as Minister-designate of the Ministry of Power by the Senate.

After an hour of screening on Tuesday, the upper legislative chamber confirmed , a Taraba State native, as a minister.

The minister-designate promised the Senate that he would resolve the issues preventing the Mambilla power project from moving forward within a year.President Muhammadu Buhari

Sambo is expected to be sworn in as a minister following his confirmation by the Senate, replacing Sale Mamman, who was fired by President Buhari in September.

His appointment came weeks after ministers of Agriculture, Sabo Nanono, and Power, Saleh Mamman, were sacked by the president.

Although no reason was given for the termination of their appointments, their tenure, especially Mr Mamman’s, marked little or no improvement in the power sector as the power situation in the country remained without any significant improvement
