Miyetti Allah Chairman Adamu Aliyu has been shot dead in Abuja.
Bandits are said to have invaded the Gwagwalada Area Council in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, and killed Adamu Aliyu, the chairman of the Miyyetti Allah Cattle Breeders’ Association of Nigeria (MACBAN).
According to this online news platform, Miyetti Allah Chairman Adamu Aliyu was killed along with four others near Daku village in the Dobi ward of the council on Thursday, but the news was only released today, Sunday, April 10, 2022.

In an interview with the Daily Trust on Sunday, the Secretary of MACBAN, Mohammed Usman, confirmed the death of Miyetti Allah Chairman Adamu Aliyu. According to the report, three people were kidnapped, while three others were shot and are being treated at the University of Teaching Hospital in Gwagwalada.

The incident occurred last Thursday around 5 p.m., when the late MACBAN chairman and others were returning from Izom market in Niger state in a Dyna truck, when bandits suddenly emerged from the bush and opened fire on the truck, according to the MACBAN Secretary.
The bandits shattered the windscreen of the truck carrying the late MACBAN and some passengers, according to him.
“They were returning from Izom market in Niger state, where they had gone to sell cows, when bandits suddenly emerged from the bush and opened fire on the truck, killing the MACBAN chairman and four others,” he said.
Saleh, Aliyu, Muhammadu, and Saidu were among those killed, according to him, and their bodies had been buried according to Islamic rites.
According to a Daily Trust report monitored by Ejes Gist Newspaper, combined security agents including soldiers, civil defence corps, mobile police, and vigilante were at Daku village before the deceased’s remains were buried, led by the Gwagwalada police area commander.
Alhaji Adamu Mustapha, the chairman of Gwagwalada Area Council, confirmed the incident over the phone but declined to comment further, saying he was in a meeting and would call back later.
The spokesperson for the FCT police command, DSP Adeh Josephine, has yet to pick up calls or respond to a text message sent to her at the time of filing this report.
