Man allegedly steals N22m goods

Chijioke Okoro, 39, has been charged with stealing N22,046,695 worth of goods from an online store called Konga before a Chief Magistrate’s Court in Ikeja, Lagos State.

According to Ejes Gist Newspaper, Okoro defrauded the online company in Akilo, Ogba State, between October 2013 and August 2021.

He was charged with two counts of stealing and cheating by deception.

“That you, Chijioke Okoro, unlawfully stole goods worth N22,046,695, property of Konga Online Shopping Limited, from October 2013 to August 20, 2021, at No 3b, Cocoa Road, Akilo area of Ogba, Lagos, in the Ikeja Magistrarial District, did unlawfully steal goods worth N22,046,695, property of Konga Online Shopping Limited, from October 2013 to August 20, 2021, at No 3b, Cocoa Road, Akil

“That you, Chijioke Okoro, did fraudulently trick and cheat Konga Online Shopping Limited with their goods valued at N22,046,695.23, thereby committing an offence, on the same date, time, and place, in the aforementioned magisterial district.”

The crimes, according to the police, are in violation of sections 286 and 323 of the Lagos State Criminal Laws of 2015.

Okoro was granted bail after pleading not guilty to the charges.

The matter was adjourned by Chief Magistrate S.K Matepo until March 28, 2022.
